How PixelDock calculators produce results
This page explains the shared calculation conventions used across the site. Each calculator also publishes its exact formula, worked examples and calculator-specific limitations.
Formulas and rounding
Calculations use the numeric values entered in the browser. Results are rounded only for display, normally to two decimal places for money and percentages. The formula shown on each calculator page is the formula implemented by that tool.
Date conventions
Date tools use calendar dates rather than times of day. UTC-based date handling prevents timezone shifts. Duration tools measure elapsed time; the working-days calculator includes both boundary dates when they fall Monday to Friday. Employer rules may count boundary dates differently.
Currency formatting, not conversion
The currency selector changes the symbol and number formatting. It does not retrieve exchange rates or convert value between currencies. Inputs being compared must already use the same currency.
Gross, net and policy limitations
Salary results are gross estimates unless the user deliberately enters net figures. Taxes, deductions, benefits and employer-specific rules are not inferred. Date results do not interpret contracts, holidays, leave or local employment law.
Privacy
Calculator values are processed locally in the browser and are not included in analytics events or stored by PixelDock. See the Privacy Policy for site-level details.
Testing and corrections
Automated tests cover representative results, zero denominators, invalid values, leap years, reversed dates and month boundaries. Production checks verify that every registered calculator, canonical URL and sitemap entry resolves. If a result appears incorrect, contact PixelDock with the calculator name and expected calculation—without sending confidential salary information.
